NAU women host final 2 home games
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- The Northern Arizona women's basketball team will play its final two home games of the season this week at the Walkup Skydome, hosting Sacramento State on Thursday night and Portland State on Saturday.
Thursday's game, starting at 6:30 p.m., will be televised on FOX Sports Arizona Plus; Saturday's, starting at 2 p.m., can be seen on FOX Sports Arizona. Both games will also be streamed live on FOX Sports GO.
Saturday will be Senior Day for six NAU players: Chelena Betoney, Rene Coggins, Bradlee Cotton, Taylor Leyva, Brittani Lusain and Catelyn Preston.
NAU (7-18, 3-11 Big Sky) is coming off a 77-65 victory over Southern Utah, snapping a seven-game losing streak. Freshman Raina Perez scored 15 points to lead six Lumberjacks in double-figures, and Levya and Preston each recorded double-doubles. Junior Olivia Lucero (15.1 points per game) and Coggins (11.4) are NAU's leading scorers on the season.
Sacramento State (9-16, 5-9) defeated NAU 82-76 last month in Sacramento. Marianne Johnson averaged 14.7 points per game, Margaret Huntington leads the Big Sky in rebounding with 9.3 per game.
Portland State (12-14, 6-8) defeated NAU 56-55 in Portland. Sidney Rielly (16.9 points per game) and Ashley Bolston (15.9) both rank among the top six scorers in the conference.
