Murray glad to be back on the field after injury
DeMarco Murray admitted that when he woke up Monday morning his body felt like he had been in a car accident the night before.
In a way, he was. The car was driven by the Philadelphia Eagles defense.
"It's a good feeling. I actually like it, as weird as that sounds," Murray said Tuesday morning on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]. "I'm happy to be back on the field."
After missing six games with a sprained left foot, Murray returned to action Sunday night, helping the Cowboys secure a 38-33 victory over the Eagles.
He wasn't eased back into action, either.
The Cowboys' second-year running back carried a season-high 23 times for 83 yards and a touchdown, improving the team's record to 8-0 over the last two seasons when Murray carries 18 or more times.
The injury was a bigger setback than Murray originally anticipated. After exiting the game in Baltimore on Oct. 14, Murray says he thought he'd only miss a couple weeks. But the healing process seemingly stopped and he began to think he might be done for the season.
"It was feeling better after the first and second week," Murray said. "Then after the third and fourth week it was kind of at a stalemate and kind of felt the same. This past week is where I really, I think, turned the corner and it felt better."
Murray made the media rounds during the Cowboys off day, promoting Pepsi and Kelly Clarkson's Cowboys song "Get up." During his segment on Fox 4, Murray said he received ice and electronic stimulation on Monday.
"It feels good right now," he said, "so that's a good sign."
