In his time with the Dallas Cowboys, DeMarco Murray has been part of three consecutive 8-8 seasons.
Is there progress being made? Murray says there is.
Entering his fourth year with the club, the Pro Bowl running back considers this the best team he's been on.
"I think you can say that, yeah," Murray said Wednesday. "From the leadership we have and the young guys, I think you can say that."
Murray, who is coming off his first 1,000-yard season, declined to reveal any of his individual goals for the upcoming year. He obviously would like to be on the field the entire season. Over the previous three years, Murray has missed 11 games because of various injuries.
"I'm excited. I'm feeling great," Murray said. "Excited to get out [to training camp] and get things going."
The Cowboys have made several significant roster changes over the last five months. They lost last season's sack-leader Jason Hatcher to free agency. Seven-time Pro Bowl defensive end DeMarcus Ware was released.
On Wednesday, another significant move was made when Dallas officially cut veteran backup quarterback Kyle Orton.

To Murray, it was just a business decision.
"Kyle is a great guy and a really good quarterback and a good friend," Murray said. "But it's a business. They decided what's best for the team. They know what's best.
"They didn't think he was fit, so I think they made a decision that they thought was best for the team."
The Cowboys leave for training camp next Tuesday. They'll be in Oxnard, Calif., until August 15. Murray likes what he saw from his teammates throughout off-season workouts, organized team activities and mini camp.
Now, he's hoping that momentum carries over to California.
"I think we're looking good," Murray said. "I think we had a strong off-season workout with [strength and conditioning coach Mike Woicik] and it carried on through OTAs and mini camp. I thought we looked good, but there's definitely still a lot of work to do and that's what training camp is for."
Murray hosted a cocktail event and silent auction on Wednesday at Texas de Brazil in Uptown Dallas. The event raised money for the DeMarco Murray Foundation, which helps underprivileged local youths. Murray started the foundation in November and has since raised nearly $100,000.
