Missouri Tigers sweep weekly Big 12 awards

The Missouri Tigers swept the weekly Big 12 awards as teammates Marcus Denmon and Ricardo Ratliffe (Missouri) were selected on Monday as the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for games of November 29-December 5.
It is the first weekly recognition for Denmon, while Ratliffe is named top rookie for the second consecutive week.
Denmon, had a career week as the Tigers dropped a 111-102 overtime decision to No. 14 Georgetown before winning at Oregon (83-80). The junior guard averaged 23.0 points and 7.0 rebounds, finishing with 46 points on just 19 total shots in two contests.
He scored a career-high 27 points versus the Hoyas on 10-of-12 shots from the floor, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range. He followed that by again missing only two field goals, connecting on 5-of-7 from the field against the Oregon Ducks.
He shot 78.9 percent on the week, including 72.7 percent (8-of-11) from beyond the arc. Denmon also made 8-of-9 from the free throw line with three assists and three steals.
Ratliffe gets his second consecutive Big 12 Rookie of the Week after he averaged 15.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in the Tigers' two games.
The junior college transfer from Central Florida Community College started with a career-high 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting against Georgetown to go along with seven rebounds.
He then posted 11 points in the win at Oregon, missing just one shot (5-of-6) and adding four blocks. He shot 63.6 percent (14-of-22) on the week and made 5-of-6 (.833) from the free throw line.
Ratliffe has shot 50 percent or better in each of his last three outings and in six of seven games overall in 2010-11.
