Minor-league team giving turtle power a shot with special unis
The Fresno Grizzlies are shedding their fur for a night and going to turtle power with a special uniform promotion.
According to MiLB.com, Fresno leaked the uniforms online despite not having officially made the announcement. But here’s what MiLB said:
The Giants' Triple-A affiliate will have its players wear Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed uniforms on Aug. 2 after a mock-up of their new threads was leaked on Twitter. The club, keeping mostly quiet on the reveal, has yet to officially announced the theme uniforms, but did confirm that caps will be available to purchase this summer.
According to Yahoo! Sports, fans will vote which of the four versions of the turtle-themed jersey end up in a game -- the uniforms are trimmed in blue, purple, red and yellow to go along with matching caps.
The Grizzlies, a Pacific Coast League club in California, said the jerseys will be sold in a charity auction held during the game in August. They said more details should be available in the coming months.
