BEREA, Ohio (AP) -- Browns CEO Joe Banner said injured rookie linebacker Barkevious Mingo will undergo more tests on his bruised lung.
Mingo was hospitalized for two days after sustaining the unusual injury Thursday in an exhibition against Detroit. Mingo said he was spitting up blood on the sideline and experienced shortness of breath. He believes the injury occurred on the opening kickoff.
Banner said there is no timetable on Mingo's return and made it clear the Browns will be very cautious before putting the first-round pick back on the field.
Also, Banner said running back Dion Lewis is undergoing surgery Monday after breaking his leg against the Lions. Banner said the team still does not know if Lewis can play this year.
Banner spoke to reporters after a tour of the Browns' headquarters, which recently underwent a $5 million renovation.
