Milano believes BC will help him on path to NHL
Sonny Milano says he's wanted to go to Boston College since he was a young kid.
The Blue Jackets draftee talked to the team's website about heading to school in Chestnut Hill at the end of this month. While Milano said he had been enamored with the campus since visiting with his sister when he was younger, there are also other reasons he chose that program.
"I have to gain strength. There's not too many games on the schedule. There's a lot of time to train off the ice, which should help me get to the next level," Milano said of the college game.
A shorter college scheduled will give Milano that extra time to build his body in the gym.
The Eagles have a track record of producing NHL players, such as the Jackets' Cam Atkinson, which Milano also knows well.
"My top goal is to be a Blue Jacket one day," says Milano. "I think going to BC is the best way to get there."
