Mike Trout falls victim to Will Venable's best Mike Trout impression

Mike Trout got Mike Trout'd on Tuesday night against the San Diego Padres.

In the bottom of the third inning, Trout squared up a ball that all 32,334 in attendance at Angel Stadium thought was sure to leave the park. Even members of the Padres thought it was gone. 

Matt Kemp didn't even flinch in right field. He was planted and slowly turned his upper body towards centerfield as the ball carried into the night. 

Padres centerfielder Will Venable thought he had a chance to make a play. He approached the wall, jumped and robbed Trout of what would have been his 12th home run of the season.

Trout, not exactly happy in the moment, could do nothing but appreciate it. 

"The feeling I got when I take away a home run, that's the feeling (Venable) gets," he said. "It (stunk), obviously, he caught it for us but he made a hell of a play and it was pretty cool to see on replay. I'm out there trying to take home runs away every time, for sure. So, every chance I get, I'm sure with him, too, he's going to do the same."

Venable's exceptional play ended up saving the game for the Padres, who went on to win 4-0 in 10 innings. The potential two-run home run might have been enough to lift the Angels to a win in nine innings. Instead, Mike Trout got a taste of his own medicine.

"I saw it," Trout said. "It's pretty cool. It's all fun. He's out there trying to do the same thing I'm doing, trying to take away hits. You can't take that away from him."
