Michigan QB confident about Buckeyes' visit to Ann Arbor
You know how they say the Ohio State-Michigan football rivalry is a year-round phenomenon? Devin Gardner did his part to make sure that is true with his confident response to a question from a Detroit radio show host Monday.
"We always have room for improvement, but this is definitely a championship-caliber football team that will win in the Big House against Ohio State," Gardner replied (via the Detroit News) to a question about those two topics. "We don't feel we're inferior to anyone in the country, and we're going to give it our all."
As far as comments go, it is pretty low on the inflammation scale, but they still made their various Internet rounds after being published. Of course, some Ohio State fans were just happy to point out Gardner might have risked the wrath of his own head coach by referring to the school as "Ohio State" rather than merely Ohio.
What do you think? Is this legitimate bulletin board material, or just a player showing confidence in his team? Let us know in the comments.
