NEW YORK (AP) -- Logan Morrison has been activated from the 60-day disabled list by the Miami Marlins and was set to end a layoff of nearly 11 months.
Morrison was in the starting lineup to play first base and bat fifth Sunday against the New York Mets, his first big league appearance since July 28. He has been recovering from right knee surgery on Sept. 5.
Center fielder Chris Coghlan was put on the 15-day DL because of nerve irritation in his right calf. He had been playing with the injury for several weeks and left Saturday's 2-1, 20-inning win in the middle of the eighth inning.
Right fielder Giancarlo Stanton, who hasn't played since April 29 because of a strained right hamstring, could be activated Monday.
