The University of Miami has sent an official recruitment letter to a 9-year-old girl who is already playing on a high school varsity basketball team.

Jaden Newman, a 4-foot-7 fourth-grader who plays point guard for Downey Christian School in Orlando, not only received a letter but was invited to tour the Coral Gables campus.

"They showed me around. They showed me their basketball court and they showed me like all the campus, it was nice," Newman told Miami television WPLG.

Jaden's older brother, Julian, drew some press of his own in recent years, playing on the Downey boys varsity team as a fifth-grader. Julian is now a sixth-grader averaging 17 points a game.

With the help of coaching from her father, Jaden is averaging 14.8 points and 7.5 assists a game. Jamie Newman said her daughter even once scored 63 points for her 11-and-under AAU team against a boys team.

Her 30-second YouTube highlight video already has almost 800,000 views.
