FOXSportsSouth.com invites you to meet the Braves as we continue a month-long look at our team, player-by-player. We'll revisit 2011 and project what 2012 might look like.

Mike Minor

Position:
P
Height: 6-4; Weight: 205
Bat/Throw: R/L
Hometown: Nashville, Tenn.
Experience: Third season

2011 in review: Minor shuffled between Triple-A Gwinnett and the Braves, going 5-3 with a 4.14 ERA in the majors, including a three-game winning streak in August, when he sandwiched two victories over the Cubs around one against the Giants. He was 4-5 with a 3.13 ERA at Gwinnett.

Career highlight: Minor gave up two earned runs in six innings to defeat the Nationals and earn his first big-league victory in his second career start on Aug. 17, 2010.

Outlook: Minor is having the best spring of any of the Braves’ starters, so it seems he will be a lock to start the season in the rotation, at least until Tim Hudson returns at the first of May. Minor didn’t give up a run in his first two spring starts and would be the only left-hander in the rotation.

You should know: He set the Atlanta rookie record with 12 strikeouts against the Cubs on Aug. 22, 2010, breaking Tommy Hanson’s year-old mark of 11.

Friday: Luis Durango
