MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota's Joe Mauer moved up to second in total voting among American League catchers, according to the updated voting results released Tuesday.

Mauer, who was the third-highest vote getter when the previous round of results were announced, has 912,997 votes and now trails only Texas catcher Mike Napoli (1,640,160) in the voting.

After played in just 82 games last season due to numerous injuries, Mauer is now batting .302 with three homers and 27 RBI in 54 games prior to Tuesday. He has also stayed relatively healthy, missing just a few games with a thumb injury. No other Twins player ranks among the top five vote getters (or top 15 for outfielders) in any of the other positions.

In-stadium voting will end on June 22, while the rosters will be unveiled July 1. The 2012 All-Star game will be played on July 10 in Kansas City.
