Matt Brown recounts the death of Pantera's 'Dimebag' Darrell

It was on Dec. 8, 2004 that the heavy metal world lost a true legend when one of the founding guitarists from the legendary group Pantera, "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, was shot dead while performing with his band Damageplan at Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio.
The shooting that night claimed three other lives and seven more were injured as the mad gunman opened fire on the crowd at the small club north of downtown Columbus.
One of the patrons that night was future UFC welterweight contender Matt Brown, who says he ended up at the show after being suspended from his job earlier that night. Not even knowing that "Dimebag" Darrell's band was playing, he saw the spotlight for the show and decided to buy a ticket and see the concert.
As the shots were fired that took Abbott's life, Brown stood just a few feet away in the second row of fans who witnessed one of the most brutal murders in music history.
On the eve of his upcoming fight against Erick Silva in Cincinnati, Brown took time to tell us the entire harrowing ordeal of the night of the shooting as well as the memorial for "Dimebag" Darrell a few days later in Columbus.
