Martina McBride highlights Rays' 'Country Night'
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- For one night, Tropicana Field went country.
Country star Martina McBride, who has sold more than 18 million albums worldwide, performed as part of the Tampa Bay Rays’ Summer Concert Series on Saturday. A four-time Female Vocalist of the Year as voted by the Country Music Association, McBride was the second act in this year’s series, which is in its sixth season.

She has released 11 studio albums and is known for hit singles such as "Blessed," "I Love You," "This One's for the Girls" and "Independence Day."
McBride was the latest in a star-studded lineup at the Trop this summer. Soft rock singer Kenny Loggins played after a game against the San Diego Padres on May 11. The Imagination Movers (June 16), Carly Rae Jepsen (July 14), OneRepublic (Aug. 17) and Victoria Justice (Aug. 18) also will make appearances.
True, "Country Night" at Tropicana Field was a work night for McBride. But the gig came with perks: she scored face-time with Rays manager Joe Maddon and stars such as left handers Matt Moore and David Price, the reigning American League Cy Young Award winner.
