Marlins send minor leaguer to Dodgers for player to be named or cash

The Miami Marlins didn't just agree to blockbuster terms with slugger Giancarlo Stanton on Monday.

In a smaller move, they traded outfield prospect Kyle Jensen to the Los Angels Dodgers in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Jensen, a 12th-round pick in the 2009 draft out of St. Mary's Preparatory School, hit .260 with 29 doubles, 27 home runs and 92 RBI in 133 games with Triple-A New Orleans in 2014. In six minor-league seasons, he batted .262 with 138 doubles, 10 triples, 128 homers and 440 RBI. The 26-year-old has yet to make his big-league debut.

With the transaction, there are now 36 players on the 40-man roster.
