MINNEAPOLIS -- Better make it two.

Lindsay Whalen became the second consecutive Lynx player to win the WNBA's Western Conference player of the week award after leading Minnesota to a 7-0 start, the fourth-best season commencement in league history. After the first week of the season, teammate Maya Moore received the same award.

Whalen, the team's veteran point guard, ranks fifth in the WNBA in assists (5.4 per game), 10th in scoring, (16.3 points per game), second in rebounding among point guards (4.1 per game) and sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.17-to-1) two weeks into the campaign. She's scored in double figures in every game, this season, including 19 or more each of the past three games.

Last Monday, she began the week with a season-high 22 points and a key, late jumper in a Memorial Day win against Chicago that left Minnesota as the WNBA's lone unbeaten team. On Friday against San Antonio, she scored 19 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out three assists in a home win against the Stars. Two days later in San Antonio, she befuddled them again with 14 points and 10 assists.

It was Whalen's first double-double of the season.

Minnesota continues a four-game road swing Friday, June 6 at Seattle.
