The Minnesota Lynx announced Thursday that they have signed Shawnice "Pepper" Wilson, a 6-foot-6 center from the University of Miami.
Wilson averaged career highs in points (10.0 per game) and rebounds (8.6 per game) during her 2012-13 senior season for the Hurricanes.
The signing comes just three days after the WNBA draft, in which the team selected three guards -- Lindsey Moore, Sugar Rodgers and Chucky Jeffery -- and a center, Waltiea Roole. Wilson will be competing with several players for the team's final roster spot, so this signing may be little more than a training camp stint.
