Lynx select Graves, Fagbenle in WNBA Draft, trade for Perkins
The Minnesota Lynx added a pair of fresh faces, as well as a league veteran, at Thursday night's WNBA Draft.
Armed with two second-round picks and a third-round pick, the Lynx selected Jazmon Gwathmey with the 14th overall pick, before sending the former James Madison guard to the San Antonio Stars in exchange for veteran guard Jia Perkins.
The Lynx were back in action just eight picks later, selecting Tennessee forward Bashaara Graves with the 22nd overall pick.
Perkins brings valuable depth to the defending WNBA champions after averaging 13.3 points and 3.0 rebounds in 26 games for the Stars last season.
A 6-foot-2 forward out of Tennessee, Graves is the only player in Lady Vols history to finish her career with more than 1,500 points and 1,000 rebounds.
The Lynx selected Southern California center Temi Fagbenle.
Fagbenle averaged 13.6 points and nine rebounds for USC last season.
