Lynx re-sign McKenith for backcourt depth
MINNEAPOLIS -- Nadirah McKenith will once again seek to provide the Lynx some backcourt depth.
The team announced Friday it had re-signed the 5-foot-7 guard. After Minnesota waived Lindsey Moore midway through the season, it signed McKenith, who appeared in six games, averaging 0.7 points and 0.7 rebounds.
She's expected to play a reserve role behind Lindsay Whalen, Seimone Augustus and Monica Wright this summer.
The Washington Mystics drafted McKenith in the second round out of St. John's in 2013. She spent her rookie season in the nation's capital, averaging 2.8 points, 1.1 rebounds, one assist and 8.8 minutes per game in 32 contests.
The Lynx, who won WNBA championships in 2011 and 2013, tip off their 17th season at 7 p.m. Friday, June 5 at home against the Tulsa Shock.
