MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Lynx's 2014 roster is shaping up to look remarkably similar to the one that brought the Twin Cities a championship last summer.

After re-signing starting center Janel McCarville to a multiyear extension Thursday morning, the team announced it matched Seattle's offer sheet for restricted free agent guard Monica Wright. Minnesota had until Monday, March 24 to offer Wright the same terms -- or better -- proposed by the Storm, but the Lynx wasted little time in securing their sixth woman for another WNBA title run.

Originally selected second overall in the 2010 draft by the Lynx, the four-year veteran played the biggest supporting role behind the team's starting five last year. Wright, the fiancee of NBA star Kevin Durant, carried a strong regular season -- nine points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists per game -- forward into the playoffs. There, she shot 47.2 percent and averaged 9.1 points and 21.1 minutes a contest.

For her career, Wright averages 8.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per game and has been around for Minnesota's championships two of the past three seasons.

She becomes the fourth cornerstone piece from last year's squad to stick around. The team also signed starters Lindsay Whalen and Seimone Augustus to three-year extensions near the end of last season.
