Kevin Love left Friday's game in New Orleans with just more than a minute remaining after hitting Hornets rookie guard Austin Rivers with his right thumb. The injury is on the same hand the Minnesota Timberwolves forward injured in the preseason.

The team revealed after the game that the injury is a right thumb contusion and that X-rays were negative.

Love had 14 points and nine rebounds in the Timberwolves' 113-102 win over the Hornets.

Love missed nine games to open this season after breaking his right hand in the preseason. Since returning, he has averaged 19.4 points and 13.7 rebounds in 11 games.
