Defensive tackle Nick Fairley has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals because of a shoulder injury.
Fairley injured the shoulder in last week’s opener. He missed practice Wednesday and Thursday but returned Friday.
Fairley was listed as questionable on the Lions’ official injury report released Friday.
C.J. Mosley, who was signed as a free agent during the off-season and is in his ninth NFL season, is expected to start in Fairley’s place.
Fairley also missed the final three games last season because of a shoulder injury.
