TAMPA BAY, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Lightning will debut their new, black third jersey on Thursday night when the team hosts the San Jose Sharks at Amalie Arena at 7:30 p.m. Fans attending Thursday night's game between the Lightning and Sharks will receive a free 'Back in Black' t-shirt compliments of Chase.

The Lightning unveiled their new third jersey system on September 27 during Fan Fest at Amalie Arena. The third jersey is black and features the popular BOLTS logo from previous seasons across the front with white trim and has blue and gray as secondary colors. The club will also wear a black version of their signature lightning bolt pants and black gloves as part of their new third jersey system.

"We're very excited to show off our new third jersey in our game on Thursday, and we invite our fans to go 'Back in Black' with us beginning this week," Lightning president Steve Griggs said. "The Lightning are proud that our fans have embraced our primary blue and white jerseys, but understanding how popular our traditional black color scheme was to our fan base, we felt that it was important to bring it back."

The third jerseys will be worn by the Lightning 12 times during the 2014-15 season. The Lightning will wear the black jerseys for the first time during their game on Thursday night and will wear them for each Saturday home contest.

The Lightning will be going back to the color black for the first time since they made their magical run to the 2011 Eastern Conference Finals. Black had always been part of the Lightning's color scheme from the beginning of the franchise's inaugural season. The Lightning's most memorable moment, the 2004 Stanley Cup championship, occurred while wearing black jerseys.

Fans looking to purchase the new third jersey can visit Tampa Bay Sports, powered by Reebok, at Amalie Arena beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, November 13. The jerseys may also be purchased online at www.tampabaysports.com beginning on Tuesday, November 18.
