Lightning sign Swiss forward Reto Suri

TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Reto Suri to a one-year, two-way contract, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced Friday.
The Tampa Bay Times reported Suri will play one more year in Europe before joining the Lightning.
Suri, 24, skated in 46 games this past season with Zug of the Swiss National League A, recording 14 goals and 25 points. The Zurich, Switzerland, native ranked sixth on the team in goals and seventh in points. He averaged a point per game -- nine goals, five assists  in 14 postseason games.
The 6-foot, 185-pound forward represented Switzerland in the 2013 IIHF World Championships, helping it win the Silver Medal. Suri had a team-high five goals and eight points in 10 games.
Suri led Rapperswil-Jona of the Swiss National League A in goals in both the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons. During the two seasons while playing for Rapperswil-Jona he recorded 28 goals and 53 points in 99 games. Suri also ranked in the top three in points during both seasons with Rapperswil-Jona.
