Lauren Hill in hospice care

Lauren Hill's story has been an inspirational one to all.

Whether it was creating the "Layup 4 Lauren" challenge, scoring in her first college basketball game or appearing on the cover of this year's NBA Live video game, the young woman suffering from an inoperable brain tumor has done some amazing things with a positive mental attitude.

Early Wednesday morning, her family posted a message on Lauren's Fight For Cure announcing that Hill signed on with hospice Monday. The post said that it had been originally planned for late October or early November, but the basketball game pushed it back.

In spite of symptoms worsening, Hill has remained in good spirits. Her family says that she was in a "funny, goofy mood" when the post was made.

Hill's story has truly put a perspective on life that is rarely seen from her position, and her message has spread widely around the country.

Lauren's contributions to The Cure Starts Now Foundation have raised over $324,000 for cancer research and treatment.
