Last Lap: Joey Logano Steals Nationwide Win At Dover
Logano may have have entered Dover driving for a new team this weekend, but the result was no different as he claimed his third consecutive NASCAR Nationwide Series victory at the one-mile concrete track.
Unlike his previous two victories which came under the Joe Gibbs Racing banner, this one was for Penske Racing and "The Captain."
"This is definitely fun to come to Dover and finally beat those Gibbs cars. I wanted to beat them really bad," Logano said.
"It is amazing to finally win for the captain, Roger Penske."
Logano elected to take two tires on the final round of pit stops and led the field to green with 34 laps to go. Logano jumped out to a fairly healthy lead and refused to be denied, beating Brian Vickers to the line by 0.576 seconds. Matt Kenseth finished third with Trevor Bayne in fourth.
Busch, who won last night's Trucks race, was looking stout early on as he led 72 of 200 laps. However, a decision to take four tires on the final stop mired Busch deep in the pack, eliminating him from contention.
"It's my fault. I'm aggravated with myself," Busch said after settling for a fifth place finish. "I made the wrong call there. I just figured more would take four."
