Larry Brown not changing SMU plans

DALLAS (AP) -- Larry Brown's estate in the Philadelphia area is for sale, and the SMU coach is looking for a place closer to campus because his son is coming to the Dallas university.

As for how those developments affect his coaching outlook, he says they don't. He's always planned on trying to build a winner, and "nothing's changed."

Brown, the only coach to win NCAA and NBA titles, has downplayed questions about the length of his SMU tenure ever since he was hired and persuaded Tim Jankovich to give up the Illinois State job and become his coach in waiting.

The 72-year-old Brown says the family is trying to "figure it out" with his son about to graduate high school while his daughter still attends a prep school on the East Coast.
