A head coach's responsibilities include but are never limited to: recruiting, scouting, game planning, rubbing elbows with donors and dignitaries, and as always, other duties as assigned.
In this particular case, Kansas men's basketball head coach Bill Self was surely fulfilling his "other duties" to the in-game entertainment folks in the KU Athletics department. Never one to shy from the camera, Self and his players got into the latest viral video crazy — the "Harlem Shake" — for the Phog Allen Fieldhouse video board during the Jayhawks' home game against Texas earlier this month.
As entertaining as Self, Ben McLemore and company were in that showstopper, they aren't the only 2012 Final Four participant getting into the "Shake" spirit. Louisville's Rick Pitino, also not shy of the spotlight, and Russ Smith appear in this locker room version of the internet craze.
Both coaches had impressively cheesy cameos, but more importantly, will either be shaking their way to a repeat visit to the Final Four?
Finally, let's give credit where credit is due. This isn't the only time KU's Ben McLemore has showcased his slick moves off the court. Check out this highly entertaining gif of the redshirt freshman doing what is being dubbed the "McShuffle" after KU went into Columbus and defeated the Buckeyes in December.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Have we mentioned this KU team likes to dance? Check out the dance medley performed by the Jayhawks at Late Night in the Phog back in October. How 'bout Jeff Withey sticks to blocking shots ... Yikes!
