Kobe's cast removed, in walking boot

BY foxsports • April 23, 2013

Kobe Bryant was back on Twitter and this time, it wasn't to offer his two cents on the Lakers, it was to give an update after having surgery on his torn left Achilles' tendon.

Bryant announced that his cast has been removed and replaced by a boot.

The tweet included a link to his Instagram profile with a split photo of his left foot in the cast and another sporting the new boot.

"Cast off today. I have zero swelling and virtually no pain. Boot now for a few months. I start therapy this week #StartwhereUstand #takethechallenge #pray4bear," Bryant tweeted with the Instagram photo attached.

Bryant is scheduled to be sidelined for the next six to nine months.

He suffered the injury April 12 against the Golden State Warriors with two games remaining in the regular season. Despite the absence of Kobe, the Lakers clinched a playoff berth as the No. 7 seed.

They face San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday looking to even the series at one apiece.
