Kings, MGM Grand extend Frozen Fury
LOS
ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings will play
a special preseason game in Las Vegas against
the Colorado Avalanche – Frozen Fury 15 – Saturday, Sept. 29 to kick-off a new
five-year contract between the Kings and MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, the Kings
announced Wednesday.
The
new agreement extends the Kings-MGM Grand Garden Arena relationship into the
Kings’ 2016 pre-season schedule. The Kings played their initial Frozen
Fury preseason contest at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in 1997 against Colorado.
“We
love the relationship that we have with MGM Grand and we are very excited to have
it continue,” said Kings President, Business Operations Luc
Robitaille. “The game is really an event and it is
great for our fans.”
This
year’s preseason game in Las Vegas
will begin at 7 p.m. It is the second Kings pre-season game that the club
has announced thus far. The Kings and the Ducks will play at Citizens
Business Bank Arena in Ontario
on Oct. 6 beginning at 7 p.m. That game will be ‘split down the
middle’ with half of the arena reserved for Kings fans and the other half
reserved for Ducks fans. There will be approximately 9,500 tickets
available for this game (not including suites).
