Kings G Quick has Grade 2 groin strain, timetable uncertain
Kings goalie Jonathan Quick was diagnosed with a Grade 2 groin strain following an MRI, coach Darryl Sutter said on Thursday.
Quick's return is uncertain as the timetable for a hamstring injury has a wide range, but surgery will not be required. Quick returned to Los Angeles on Wednesday, where he had the MRI.
The best recovery estimate, according to the Los Angeles Times, would be in the neighborhood of four to six weeks.
Quick's rehab, however, will start right away, Sutter added.
"We're obviously confident in him. We haven't seen him play that much," Sutter said of Scrivens. "His start on the road this
year was a shutout in Florida. He went in three times and played really
well for us off the bench. So we're looking forward to seeing him."
Quick was injured in the Kings' shootout loss to Buffalo on Tuesday. In his place, the team called up Martin Jones from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, who joined the Kings at the Thursday morning skate in New York.
