Kentucky Derby 2016: Betting results and payouts as choices finish 1-2-3-4
Nyquist became the fourth consecutive favorite to win the Kentucky Derby.
Sent off as the 2-1 favorite, Nyquist retuned $6.60, $4.80 and $3.60 across the board on Saturday at Churchill Downs.
One can be certain that if the son of Uncle Mo is in the starting game in two weeks at Pimlico for the Preakness, he will be sent off at shorter odds.
Exaggerator finished second, beaten by 1 1/4 lengths. He returned $5.40 to place and $4.20 to show.
Nyquist crosses first.
Gun Runner, the third choice, came in third and paid $6 to show.
Completing the superfecta by finishing fourth was the fourth betting choice in the race, Mohaymen.
The order of finish does provide something of a rarity. If you played the top four betting choice, they ran 1-2-3-4 and returned $542.10 for a superfecta (13-11-5-14) payoff for a $1 bet.
The $2 exacta of 13-11 returned $30.60 and the $1 trifecta (13-11-5) paid $86.70.
