K-State T-shirt with 'Bama theme might just stoke Auburn
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas State is hoping to make a statement when No. 5 Auburn visits Manhattan on Sept. 18.
Meanwhile, some enterprising Wildcat fans have apparently already made one.
If the 'O' with glasses and a headset reminds you of a certain Wildcats coach, well, it should.
A custom T-shirt in purple with the words "Roll Snyd" -- a play on the famous "Roll Tide" cheer hollered by fans of Auburn's heated rival, Alabama -- printed on the front is available for purchase at Spreadshirt.com.
Another twist: The "o" in "Roll" is shaped a bit like the head of legendary Kansas State coach Bill Snyder, or "Snyd," as the kids seem to be calling him these days, complete with his trademark headset and glasses.
The 19th-ranked Wildcats are 2-0 coming off last weekend's 32-28 win at Iowa State and have an open date before next Thursday's showdown. The Tigers, also 2-0, have beaten Arkansas and San Jose State by a combined margin of 104-34.
Which begs the question: Fun, clever marketing? Or poking the bear with a stick?
