SURPRISE, Ariz. – Texas prospect Jurickson Profar reported to camp Friday still unsure about his plans for the World Baseball Classic.

Profar originally planned to play for the Netherlands but then decided to skip the contest to focus on trying to make the Texas roster. He then had second thoughts about that decision.

Whatever he decides, he only has until Wednesday to decide because rosters have to be submitted.

"It's tough," said Profar. "It's a lot of things."

When Profar decided to skip the Classic, he said he heard a lot from people in his native Curacao who wanted him to play for his country. That's one of the reasons he reconsidered.

"They want me to play," Profar said.

An extended stint in the WBC for Profar could impact his chance of making the Texas roster as a utility player. Profar said he's received no pressure from the Rangers to skip the WBC.

"They just told me the decision I made they're behind it," Profar said. "They're going to support me."
