Junior hockey league player loses part of finger in game
A junior league hockey player took the idea of sacrificing the body to new heights in a game on Saturday.
Jason Fuchs, a player for the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, lost part of his left pinkie finger after blocking a shot.
Fuchs was in the way of a shot from the point. The puck hit him square in the hand, and Fuchs noticed something was wrong right away. He threw off his gloves in the middle of the rink and raced to the bench.

There was some panic on the bench as well.
"He shouted. No one knew what to do," Rouyn-Noranda coach Gilles Bouchard told TVA Sports after the game. "We were looking for pieces of his finger."
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League released a statment saying that Fuchs' finger is broken but that he was able to rejoin the Huskies for their trip home after the game. The 18-year-old Swiss prospect is expected to recover.
