Airing viewer tweets during a live show is always a recipe for a disaster.
The latest example of this came Monday afternoon when Canada's TSN, during its NHL trade deadline coverage, showed a tweet from someone accusing Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul of having relations with another player's wife.
@mlse did you see this little "whoops, oh sh*t" yet? Asleep at the Twitter wheel TSN? Haha pic.twitter.com/RBdLwp3dbE

Lupul either saw the tweet during the coverage or was told about it, because he quickly took to Twitter to slam TSN for airing the adultery accusation.
Why networks insist on airing tweets from random people that bring no value whatsover to a live show, we'll never know, but for now, we await the TSN apology to Lupul.
