Joe Maddon gnome to be giving out at Rays vs. Yankees game
Joe Maddon will make history … as a gnome. The likeness of the Tampa Bay Rays manager will be preserved as a miniature gnome to be given to the first 10,000 fans at the Rays-New York Yankees game on Wednesday night at Tropicana Field. Yes, it is believed to be the first time a major-league manager has been featured in gnome form. The figures, presented by Sun Sports, continue an interesting week of promotions during the Rays’ six-game homestand. Earlier, on Sunday in the Rays’ victory over the Oakland Athletics, kids age 14 and younger received a bobblehead version of Rays left-hander David Price’s French bulldog, Astro.
I might shed a tear tomorrow. To be the first manager replicated in the world of gnomedom is truly an honor. twitter.com/RaysJoeMaddon/…
