Jockey Robby Albarado fractured his clavicle and left index finger Wednesday when he was thrown from his mount on the clubhouse turn after the first race at Saratoga Race Course.

Albarado was hurt when long shot Hunt for Candie threw him after finishing sixth in the race. Hunt for Candie stumbled and fell but was not injured.

Albarado, who has ridden three winners in 50 mounts at Saratoga this summer, was taken to Albany Medical Center. He is expected to be sidelined the remainder of the meeting, which runs through Sept. 6.
