Jinxed or just paranoid? Indians fans lose their minds over SI cover

The Cleveland Indians are featured as one of four teams on the regional cover for Sports Illustrated's baseball preview. And some fans aren't very happy about it.

The cover features a smiling American League Cy Young winner Corey Kluber and laughing Michael Brantley, along with the words "Wait till this year."

"Why Cleveland? Why not Cleveland? Why the Tribe will win its first series since 1948," the cover reads.

Most fans would be happy to see their favorite team grace the cover of such a prominent publication -- unless of course, they believe in curses.

It's hard for Tribe fans to forget the 1987 spring training SI cover, which featured Indians' Joe Carter and Cory Snyder. The team was predicted to have a stellar season, but instead went on to lose 101 games.

So you can't blame Indians fans for being somewhat concerned about this year's cover, right?

Well these fans are downright paranoid about the supposed "SI cover jinx"

Manager Terry Francona and his players, on the other hand, see the cover as a huge compliment and not a curse.
