Jerry Jones on Dez Bryant endorsing Tyrann Mathieu

IRVING, Texas – Before the start of Thursday's NFL Draft, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant let everyone that follows him on Twitter know who he thought was the best player available.

Bryant was referring to former LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu, one of college football's top playmakers during the 2011 season but a prospect that wasn't projected to go in Round One.

Mathieu is arguably the most polarizing player in the draft. The 5-9, 185-pounder was kicked off the LSU football team before the start of the 2012 season for multiple violations of team rules. It has since been reported that Mathieu failed at least 10 drug tests while playing for the Tigers.

What did Cowboys owner and general manager think of Bryant's recommendation?

"I didn't see it," Jones responded with a smile. "Had I, it might've changed the whole draft board."

Jones clearly was not being serious.
