Jerry Jones finally meets with Bryant
Jerry Jones has finally spoken to Dez Bryant.
Jones stated on Tuesday morning that he was "too pissed off" to speak to Bryant after his latest arrest, but the two finally met between practice sessions Tuesday afternoon.
It took 17 days for the Cowboys owner to address his star receiver after Bryant turned himself in to authorities for allegedly attacking his mother.
"One of the reasons I didn't (talk to him earlier) was because I didn't want to talk to him emotionally,'' Jones said, according to The Dallas Morning News.
Bryant was arrested on July 16 after his mother, Angela Bryant, called 911 to report that her son had attacked her. The police reported that Dez Bryant tore his mother's bra and hit her across the face with his baseball cap. Two days later, Bryant turned himself into DeSoto police.
A week later, the Bryants held a news conference to report that charges would not be pressed.
"You know as a daddy some time, you're not supposed to spank when you're mad," Jones said. "I wanted to get the information, but I wanted to get my mind right so we could really have a good talk about that. We had a great visit."
