Turns out we're not the only ones noticing problems. For one thing, Gordon drives a 2009 Chevy Camaro in the spot, but Chevy didn't make a Camaro in 2009. So that's either one shady car salesman or an actor. Not to mention the raging liability issues of having an unwitting participant in a stunt so dangerous.
No one from Pepsi or Gordon's camp has confirmed that the spot was staged. Either way, it's still worth a laugh ... and the stunt work is quite impressive. Gordon played up the prank aspect in his Twitter feed:
