As an offensive lineman, Jason Peters’s job is to protect his teammates, but not usually like this.

When a diving tackle sent running back Ryan Mathews head over heels into the end zone on Sunday, Peters did one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen.

That’s a 220-pound, free-falling running back! Peters catches him like he’s a pencil rolling off his desk.

Peters did 21 bench press reps of 225 pounds at the 2004 NFL combine. They should have thrown the bar him and asked him to catch it.
