Japan beats Texas 6-1 in LLWS consolation game

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) Ryota Endo allowed just four hits and one earned run in five innings and had one RBI to help Tokyo, Japan beat San Antonio, Texas 6-1 on Tuesday in a consolation game of the Little League World Series.

Japan had the bases loaded with two outs in the top of the first inning when Jo Adachi laced a two-run single to right field for a 2-0 lead. Japan made it 3-0 in the second on Yujiro Moriya's base hit up the middle.

Texas pulled to 3-1 in the second when Rilan Quinones blooped a single to score Blake Compton from second.

Takumi Ito doubled to lead off the fourth, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on Moriya's double over the left fielder for a 4-1 lead. In the sixth, Endo hit a double off the wall to score Moriya from first and Endo scored on Tatsuya Suzuki's single.
