The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Monday the hiring of two assistant coaches to replace Mark Duffner, their longtime linebackers coach who left last month to join the Miami Dolphins staff.
Robert Saleh was named linebackers coach and Scottie Hazelton will serve as assistant linebackers coach. Both men had worked under Jaguars coach Gus Bradley at either the pro or college level.
Saleh, 35, spent the last three seasons as the defensive quality control coach for the Seattle Seahawks. He assisted the staff of this seasonâs Super Bowl champions with day-to-day duties while focusing on the development of the linebackers. Bradley was the Seahawks' defensive coordinator from 2009-12, and current Jaguars defensive line coach Todd Wash served in that same capacity in Seattle in 2011-12.
Hazelton, 40, was most recently the linebackers coach in college at Nevada and Southern California. From 2007-11, he served as the defensive line coach and then defensive coordinator at North Dakota State, where he was also a graduate assistant in 2000-01 while Bradley and Jaguars defensive coordinator Bob Babich were on the staff there.
Duffner had been with the Jaguars for eight years and served under three different head coaches -- Bradley, Mike Mularkey and Jack Del Rio.
