Jadeveon Clowney's in-game Instagram 'like': Not a big deal, just not very smart
The downside of having a week or more between games is that it takes at least a week or more to fully shake off the stink of a bad game, or bad decision.
In Jadeveon Clowney's case, it's the latter. The NFL rookie reportedly gave a woman's photo on Instagram a "like" about 30-45 minutes after the Texans kicked off against the Eagles on Sunday, a game he sat out with an illness.

It doesn't make him a "clown" and it's probably a much bigger deal in the media or to some outraged fans than it is inside the walls of the Texans' facility. Plus, we still don't even know if the person who pressed the button was Clowney himself, though his silence on it (which the Texans may have imposed on him) feels like a tacit admission.
Anyhow, a few hypotheticals:
(1) Would anyone care about this had the Texans won?
(2) Would you feel differently if he was browsing his phone during a stoppage of play?
Here's what coach Bill O'Brien said earlier about the report on ClowneyGramGate:
The conversation won't last long. Clowney could have avoided this kerfuffle if he had kept his phone in his pocket. But as the Texans head into their bye at 4-5, there's a lot of football to discuss, and a legitimate controversy brewing on the other side of the ball.
