DUBLIN (AP) Ireland will debut South African-born flanker CJ Stander against Wales in the opening match of its Six Nations championship defense on Sunday.

The team was announced on Friday.

Stander has been the stand-in captain for Munster, and receives his first cap in the absence of Peter O'Mahony and Sean O'Brien. The latter injured his hamstring on Tuesday. Stander is on the blindside, and Tommy O'Donnell on the openside.

Simon Zebo will start at fullback after regular Rob Kearney was also hobbled this week by a hamstring strain.
