Ireland bowl 1st in ODI vs. South Africa
BENONI, South Africa (AP) Ireland won the toss and chose to bowl first against South Africa in their one-off one-day international on Sunday.
Ireland will meet an understrength South Africa team, which is without injured captain AB de Villiers. Batsman Hashim Amla and bowlers Dale Steyn and Imran Tahir have been given time off.
South Africa gave three players their ODI debuts at Willowmoore Park in Benoni: Temba Bavuma, who will open the batting, and bowlers Dwaine Pretorius and Andile Phehlukwayo.
The Irish will also get to test themselves in an ODI against Australia in South Africa next week.
