TAMPA, Fla. (Dec. 21, 2014) -- On Monday, Dec. 22 at 7:00 p.m., Sun Sports, the statewide television home of the Rays, will premiere the "Inside the Rays: Offseason Special." Hosted by Sun Sports Rays host / in-game reporter Todd Kalas, this special episode, which will air statewide, takes viewers to San Diego for Major League Baseball's Annual Winter Meetings. Matt Silverman, President of Baseball Operations, sits down with Todd to discuss the moves the organization has made to make another playoff run in 2015.

New Manager Kevin Cash looks forward to returning to the area he was born and raised in, and becoming the first former Rays player to be named Rays manager. Cash discusses his managerial philosophies and experience of eight major league seasons as a catcher that has brought him to becoming the youngest active manager in the majors.

The offseason saw Tampa Bay players Evan Longoria, Ben Zobrist and Jeff Beliveau travel to Japan to take part in the 11th edition of the Major League Baseball Japan All-Star Series. While playing with other major league stars, Longoria and his fiancée Jamie welcomed the birth of their second child and thanks to modern technology, Evan watched his wife give birth in real-time thanks to the power of FaceTime on his phone.

Rays players were also busy away from the field, such as Chris Archer, who represented MLB as an ambassador for a 12-day trip to South Africa, running camps and clinics in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Finally, the Rays community efforts are spotlighted with the annual Thanksmas program that took place as the organization continues the tradition of helping those in need.
